How can we breathe new life into the San Luis Potosi region in Mexico, fostering a strong economy, artistic expression, and cultural vitality while inspiring hope for struggling communities ? This project is dedicated to revitalizing the area, focusing on a former hacienda that holds a rich historical, cultural, agricultural, and artistic legacy.

This hacienda, situated in farmland during Spanish colonization and beyond, has a compelling narrative. Abandoned since 1880, it witnessed clashes during the 19th-century wars of independence. My proposal is a comprehensive rehabilitation project to transform this site into a cultural centerpiece for the region.

Constructed in the latter part of the 17th century, the hacienda will be repurposed to serve as a cultural hub. The plan includes establishing residential quarters with bedrooms, common areas, and lounges. Additionally, workshops will be set up to host five resident artists, engaging in cultural development projects focused on regional planning, the richness of Mexican culture, and traditional arts and crafts.

To further enhance the hacienda’s revival, a permaculture garden will be introduced. This ecological initiative aims to resurrect the site’s agricultural heritage, ensuring a sustainable approach. The combined efforts seek not only to honor the historical significance of the hacienda but also to create a dynamic space that promotes economic growth, artistic expression, and cultural pride in the San Luis Potosi region.
