Confronting to harmonize. Desiring a device that would sublimate the singularity of each of the renderings of raw bark, burns, torn and damaged fibers, softness and cavities, we chose to combine all our experiments into a sculptural object. Balance is created by circulating the void, playing with the dimensions, positions and orientations of each plank. Variety can be read simply through pure geometric shapes whose lines and surfaces reveal a profusion of multi-sensory sensations: visual and tactile with textures, aspects, tones and colors, and olfactory sensations. The aim of this material-library display is to give users a real sense of pleasure in understanding wood – the main material of the forest – and its various surface finishes, while providing them with the exhibition booklet. The brochure support becomes a pretext for discovering and learning about wood. The device, a kind of allegory of the forest, serves the site to display the exhibition booklets.
